Get To Know Us! Our Top Two Questions That We’re Asked
When I tell people that I’m an infant and toddler sleep consultant, I immediately get two questions…
What type of sleep challenges do you address?
What method do you use?
These questions make total sense to me because what people really want to know and what I hear behind these questions is, “can you help with what I’m facing” and “would you be a good fit for me to work with?” I’m always so happy to answer these questions! I love partnering with families to help them thrive so I always hope the answer to both of the questions that people are truly asking is a resounding YES! But it’s important that we make sure it is before we jump into working together. So here are my answers to both…
What type of sleep challenges do you address? (Can you help with what I’m Facing?)
We can address any non-medical sleep challenge. This simply means, if I suspect, or you already know, that your child’s sleep challenge is being caused by a medical concern, I will simply refer you out to your pediatrician or other medical practitioner to address the concern. Once they give me the all-clear, we can begin working together! If your child’s sleep challenge is caused by anything else other than a medical condition, I can help! This means if you’re struggling with short naps, early morning wakings, weaning from the pacifier, the toddler bed transition, frequent night wakings, or you name it, I’m your girl! Let’s chat about how to get you some more sleep!
What method do you use? (Would you be a good fit for me to work with?)
This may be my favorite question that I am asked because it gives me the space to really share my heart behind what I do! I did my undergrad and graduate work in Social Work. This gave me a deep conviction that every child and every family is unique, and their needs and goals are as unique as they are themselves. Not only that, but each family should be the one that gets to set those goals. You are the only one who can define what success means for your family. Because of these convictions, when working with a new client, I always begin by learning what your goals are for our time working together. After we’ve established those goals, I will help you create a plan to meet those goals! I never want to define what success means for you. I simply want to partner with you in a way that works for you and helps you to thrive in this season of your life!
So to answer the original question, I do not have one set method. I have multiple methods that I use and some extra tricks in my back pocket to use based on how you define your goals. I take the time to get to know each of my clients and learn about the parenting style of your family and the personality of your child before deciding what route we are going to take to reach success. I never want to make a plan that you are uncomfortable implementing, or it simply will not work! I love to jump onto your team and become your biggest parenting cheerleader in this season, and I do that through a completely customized plan for your family.
That is The Mindful Nursery in a nutshell! We really just love partnering with families and feel passionate about doing that in a way that works for them, not in a way that someone else thinks it might work for them. If you have other questions, I would love to answer them! Feel free to shoot us an email, Instagram DM, or schedule a free consultation call so we can chat more!
